And the choir said “Amen!” 😉
It’s interesting for me to do nothing; it takes practice. My mind is always in ‘do something’ mode. Each year a group of girls, which has grown considerably over the years, take a week and vacation at a Club Med resort. It’s difficult to get Internet, so much so that one usually gives up. Phones don’t work correctly either so communication is difficult with anyone back in the US, But it’s awesome! I walk around barefoot all day , no cares in the world, an umbrella drink in my hand by 10am and chat with whoever happens to be where I am at that moment. The incredible freedom of doing nothing for brief periods of time is healing; time slows down. Most people go on vacation and claim that the time went sooo fast; if that’s so, they aren’t doing nothing; they’re staying busy. And it’s fine to do that if that’s what you want, but I take one week a year and do nothing. Now I need to incorporate an hour or two of ‘nothing’ into my week. I can’t figure out how to do that yet, but I will 🙂
I absolutely agree with you!! Vacations for me are for exploring the new place but primarily exploring about myself too.. 🙂 And here I am longing for a vacation yet again!
