Had a long tough day. Phew!!! Coming back home, I lay down on my couch and took a few moments to imagine something I really want to happen and then use my imagination to follow it through it in my mind’s eye. What is it am I dreaming about? Who is involved? How does it play out? Then I wonder about the direction my imagination took. Did I focus on the positive aspects of my dream or did I end up thinking about the things that could go wrong?
If I have had a constructive mental process, I would have given a pat on my back! On the other hand, my imagination turned my dream into a disaster. I shook myself and start to think about why that happened. First of all, I am surprised that due to an unexpected turn in my life, I am in the habit of imagining the worst as opposed to the best, unless my thoughts are directed differently.
It is said that the energy flows, where the attention goes, and this is the key to getting positive results in any situation. When you can actually visualize exactly what it is that you want, you fuel the energy of your creation by seeing all the wonderful aspects of it coming into reality. You can see yourself experiencing your desire in detail, imagining the events, sights, smells, and feelings around it. And, if a negative thought creeps in, you can simply erase it, replacing it with thoughts of what you want to have happen instead.
My philosophical friend to whom I called to for some insight. After hearing me out, she said that in addition to visualizing, other things can help reinforce a positive outcome I desire. For example, I could keep a daily journal and write what I desire to have happen in my life. This is a very good way to keep my focus. Another technique is to make a collarge with images of what I want, along with good things that are part of it my dream. It could have photos from magazines or I can simply doodle/draw pictures. When my little poster is completed, I can put it somewhere I will see it frequently. Just seeing these visual suggestions regularly will stimulate my imagination.
She further added that by making a point to imagine on a regular basis the positive things I want to bring my way, I will draw wonderful things into my life with surprising frequency. Not only will I experience more success in my life, but I will also feel more confident and in charge of my own destiny.
And that is my goal for self!

Great post! Your friend’s advice is similar to something I had written in an earlier blog about creating ‘story boards’ – though the context was different. You have the spirit, brains, intelligence and sensitivity to pursue those things that make you happy!!!
Ah, great mind think alike!! Thanks for having the confidence in me
It’s easy – it’s true!!
I recently created a vision board and went through a similar type of process. You have to imagine you have that which you want…already. That’s the key. Here’s to realizing all you desire!
I will try to create a collarge/ vision board and see how I progress
Cheers!!
Awesome post! Your friend is a wise one. I still have the visual board I created years ago when I was trying visualize my positive future. It’s a wonderful tool.
Thanks!
I will give it a try for sure.

The power of visualization is amazing. Seriously. Lately I’ve been dedicating actual time in my day to focus and see in my mind’s eye how I want my life to be. The key is to “feel” the emotion along with seeing the vision. Smell the smells, feel the happiness, satisfaction, excitement, energy… This is a great technique and I wish you the best! Let me know how it goes
Thanks much!! I am still in the process..and will let you know the progress once I achieve a milestone for myself!
